The purpose of the course is to support health practitioners to be informed and confident in developing Hauora Mäori competencies. Specifically the course delivers this by teaching the Hui Process and Meihana Model, the course is tailored to assist learners to apply these models within their clinical practice alongside Mäori patients and/or whānau. These models promote positive engagement, appropriate care/treatment and health advocacy that supports Mäori health equity. This course combines online learning modules and a full day face-to-face training. It is expected that the course will take learners between 22-28 hours in total, to complete (further detailed below).
