Te ORA is pleased to announce that registrations for Hui-ā-Tau 2025 are open.
This year’s Hui-ā-Tau will be held from Thursday 25 – Sunday 28 September 2025 at Te Wānanga o Raukawa, Ōtaki. As always, Hui-ā-Tau & Scientific Conference 2025 will provide a space to engage, connect and celebrate the strength and brilliance of our Māori medical community.
As Māori Medical Practitioners, we are often exposed to unique pressures and responsibilities not only within our workplace, but also within our whānau and the communities we serve. For that reason, an important way of remaining grounded is to return to our maunga, our awa, and whenua to be refuelled and replenished for the mahi ahead of us.
Over four days, we’ll reflect on our progress, celebrate our people, and explore what it means to thrive as Māori in medicine. This gathering is an opportunity to socialise, connect, learn, and contribute to the future of Māori health in an uplifting space.
The programme includes:
- Te Rā Tūhura: A careers expo for tauira and aspiring Māori health professionals
- Annual General Meeting & Wānanga
- Scientific Conference (2 days): Keynotes, abstract presentations, and panel discussions
- Te ORA Awards Dinner: A night to celebrate leadership, service, and achievement across our community
Call for Abstracts – Coming Soon
We will be sending out a call for abstracts for the Scientific Conference in the coming days.
Further details, including submission guidelines and deadlines, will be shared shortly. This is a valuable opportunity to share your mahi and contribute to the collective knowledge of our hauora Māori community.
Important – Support for Tauira
Tauira who require support with travel to Hui-ā-Tau must complete their registration no later than Thursday 29 August 2025.
After this date, Te ORA will not be able to guarantee support for travel.
Tamariki Programme
We’re working to create a safe and engaging tamariki programme during Hui-ā-Tau 2025, depending on interest and age ranges.
If you’re planning to bring tamariki, please complete the tamariki registration for each individual so we can understand numbers, ages, and needs. This will help us finalise the programme and ensure appropriate support is in place.
