AIDA – Call for Abstracts and Poster Competition

The Australian Indigenous Doctors’ Association (AIDA) has the pleasure of inviting abstracts and posters for AIDA’s signature professional networking event – AIDA 2015, our annual conference. The scientific part of the event will be held on 18-19 September.

The theme for AIDA 2015 is Collaborate, communicate and celebrate.

Our theme reflects the importance of collaboration and partnership in the work we do, and within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health sector more broadly. It is about how we work together with our partners to achieve our common goals.  It is also about communicating and sharing our individual and collective knowledge, including best practice, to maximize our learning from each other. And finally, our theme is about celebrating and sharing stories of success, to maintain the momentum and grow more Indigenous doctors.

Streams for abstract submission are:
·    collaborative research;
·    multi disciplinary approaches to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health care;
·    partnerships in medicine; and
·    celebrating pathways into and through medicine.

Presenters will have 20 minutes for their presentation, which will include five minutes for questions.

The poster competition is open to all current AIDA members. Winners will be announced, and prizes awarded, during AIDA 2015. Posters will be displayed during AIDA 2015 and time allocated for winning posters to be presented to delegates.

Abstracts must be in the attached Word document and be 500 words or less.  They will be assessed according to their relevance with our theme. Preference will be given to AIDA members (Indigenous medical doctors, Indigenous medical students and associate members).

To request the abstract template please email aida2014@aida.org.au.

If you have any questions, please contact AIDA’s Policy and Programs Manager,
Ms Sam Crossman on 1800 190 498.

Kind regards
