Grants and Scholarships on Offer
Te ORA supports the development of its members by connecting Māori medical students and doctors with scholarships and grants offered by medical colleges across Aotearoa and Australia. These opportunities enable professional development, research, and participation in scientific conferences.
ROYAL AUSTRALASIAN COLLEGE OF SURGEONS
INDIGENOUS HEALTH SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS
RACS offers a range of scholarships and grants supporting Indigenous medical students and junior doctors, including Māori, to undertake training, research, and professional development opportunities in surgery and Indigenous health.
Applications for the 2027 funding round open 3 March 2026 and close 14 April 2026.
AUSTRALIAN AND NEW ZEALAND COLLEGE OF ANAESTHETISTS
INCREASING THE NUMBER OF INDIGENOUS DOCTORS
ANZCA provides a range of initiatives to increase the number of Indigenous doctors, including grants and scholarships that support Indigenous medical students and junior doctors pursuing a career in anaesthesiology.
DR ANDREW GREER EXCELLENCE IN MĀORI HEALTH
DR ANDREW GREER EXCELLENCE IN MĀORI HEALTH
This scholarship is open to current undergraduate students at the University of Otago in Health Sciences who want to pursue an honours year or postgraduate studies. It is also available to both Māori and non-Māori students interested in advancing research related to Māori health and wellbeing. Additionally, junior doctors can apply regardless of whether they graduated from the University of Otago.
