Look back and reflect, so we can move forward.

Te ORA is pleased to announce that registrations for Hui-ā-Tau 2026 are open.

To mark this milestone year for Te ORA, Hui-ā-Tau & Scientific Conference will return to Waipapa Marae, University of Auckland, the site of our very first hui.Over three days, we will celebrate what it means to thrive as Māori in medicine — across our past, present, and future. This is an opportunity to socialise, connect, learn, and contribute to the future of Māori health in an uplifting space.

The programme includes:

  • Medical Careers Expo (expo space will be open for the full event)
  • Annual General Meeting & Wānanga
  • Scientific Conference
  • Te ORA Awards Dinner
  • Whakawhanaungatanga

More details are available on the event page — we’ll continue to update it as things are confirmed, and keep you informed through the e-pānui as planning progresses.

We are in the process of securing discounted rates at nearby accommodation for delegates – we will update the event page and send details via E-panui in the coming weeks.

Important – Support for Tauira & PGY 1/2

Tauira who require support with travel to Hui-ā-Tau must complete their registration no later than Wednesday 15 July.

After this date, Te ORA will not be able to guarantee support for travel.

Tamariki Programme

We’re working to create a safe and engaging tamariki programme during Hui-ā-Tau, depending on interest and age ranges.

If you’re planning to bring tamariki, please complete the tamariki registration for each individual so we can understand numbers, ages, and needs. This will help us finalise the programme and ensure appropriate support is in place.

Details will be confirmed closer to the event.
